Atelier Ferret’s winning design for the Grand Dax multipurpose performance hall in Dax, France, creates a dynamic and timeless presence: a pure cylindrical volume that dialogues with the historic bullring and the Parc des Arènes while opening views to the Adour river. The two-layer façade reinterprets local Art-Deco motifs in a contemporary language. Inside, a high-performance, bioclimatic venue delivers high flexibility for concerts, congresses, exhibitions and sporting events.
We produced the animations and renderings that turned the design concept into a compelling, easy-to-read visual story for the jury. Working highly responsively, we emphasized context as much as form, showing the Adour, the bullring and the park setting alongside the building’s exterior arcades and the auditorium’s multiple configurations. So the project’s scale, materiality and programmatic versatility came across vividly. The film brings interior and exterior sequences to life in a lively, atmospheric way, highlighting circulation, staging options and audience experience. Our visuals supported Atelier Ferret’s narrative and helped make the strengths of the proposal unmistakable.
